New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart took the stage Friday to introduce President Donald Trump at a political event in Rockland County, New York, where Trump was appearing with Rep. Mike Lawler.
Dart’s introduction was brief and included the line:
“Without further ado, I’m grateful and honored and pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”
After Trump approached the podium, he praised Dart in remarks captured on video and quoted by multiple outlets.
The event took place at Rockland Community College in Suffern and was framed as an appearance in support of Lawler, the Republican incumbent in New York’s 17th Congressional District. Local reports said the appearance drew both supporters and protesters.
