Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray addressed a rally in Mumbai's Bhandup and apologised to the public for the mistake of giving tickets to rebel MPs.
On 21 June 2026, at a rally in Mumbai's Bhandup, Uddhav Thackeray attacked rebel MPs, the BJP and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said the public had voted for the defecting MPs seeing the Shiv Sena name and torch symbol, so giving them tickets was a mistake on his part.
Uddhav Thackeray accused the BJP of making the biggest attempt to split Shiv Sena, while Congress had never tried to do so. Taking an indirect aim at Amit Shah, he said outsiders cannot decide who leads the real Shiv Sena.
On 22 June 2026 at 3 pm, six Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha MPs may join Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena. They are Sanjay Dina Patil, Sanjay Deshmukh, Sanjay Jadhav, Bhausaheb Wakchaure, Nagesh Patil Ashtikar and Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the operation was successful.
