Wetherspoon spring beer festival runs from March 4 to 15

J D Wetherspoon is hosting its spring beer festival featuring 30 real ales, including five from international brewers, across its pubs from March 4 to 15, 2026. The event marks the first time a Mexican real ale will be available in Wetherspoon pubs. In Swansea, four pubs will offer up to 20 of these beers at £2.20 per pint.

The Wetherspoon spring beer festival 2026 will take place over 12 days, from Wednesday, March 4, to Sunday, March 15, inclusive. Nationally, a range of 30 real ales will be available, with five brewed by international producers from Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the USA. Of these, 28 are new to Wetherspoon pubs, and it is the first time the chain will feature a real ale from Mexico.

The international beers include Tropical from Cervejaria Bodebrown in Brazil, Nigredo from Birrificio Italiano in Italy, Session IPA from Malteza in Mexico, Vicious IPA from Almogàver in Spain, and Read the Room from Good Word in the USA. UK offerings feature Salem Coastal Confusion from Batemans, Crimson Legend from Brains, Shug Monkey from Elgood’s, Brewed Awakening from Hook Norton, Lucky ’Lips from Shepherd Neame, and Pitch Perfect from Vale. The selection incorporates diverse malts and hops, along with flavors like coffee, elderflower, hibiscus, and maple syrup. Vegan options suitable for vegetarians are included, though one source specifies three such beers.

In Swansea, the festival will be hosted at four pubs: The Potters Wheel on The Kingsway, The Bank Statement on Wind Street, The Red Lion Inn on Sway Road in Morriston, and The Mardy Inn on High Street in Gorseinon. There, up to 20 real ales will be served, almost all brewed exclusively for the event, at £2.20 per pint. Additional ingredients like orange and vanilla appear in some beers per local reports.

Wetherspoon marketing manager Jen Swindells described the festival as “a great celebration of cask beer,” noting it allows pubs to showcase “superb value-for-money beers” from afar and nearby, including many new to customers. At The Bank Statement, manager Ben Edwards echoed this, calling it “a great celebration of real ale” with beers “not previously available” at great prices.

Three third-of-a-pint tasters will be offered for the price of a pint. Tasting notes and brewer articles are available in the festival magazine, downloadable via the Wetherspoon website and app. Beers can be ordered at the bar or through the app, with full allergen information accessible online, in pubs, and on the app.
