Albert Lyckåsen signs with Ringerike Panthers

Former HockeyAllsvenskan defenseman Albert Lyckåsen has joined Norwegian top-league club Ringerike Panthers after leaving Nidaros. The 25-year-old right-shot blueliner agreed to terms with the newly promoted team.

Lyckåsen joined Nidaros last fall after departing Västerås. He recorded 15 points in 22 games as the club secured its league status through the qualifiers.

He has now signed with a direct rival. Ringerike earned promotion back to the top division by winning the spring qualifiers.

"I am really excited for next season. It will be a tough challenge, but I look forward to it. It seems that Norway has gotten real hockey fever lately," Lyckåsen said on the club's website.

The player has previously appeared in HockeyAllsvenskan for Mora, BIK Karlskoga, AIK and Västerås. Buffalo Sabres selected him in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL draft.
