Cet échange faisait suite à la publicité de Platner critiquant le rôle du capital-investissement dans la propriété des Red Sox.

La publicité, diffusée sur NESN pendant un match des Red Sox avant d'être retirée, s'en prenait aux sociétés de capital-investissement pour leur impact sur les logements, les hôpitaux et les commerces locaux.
