Calls to scrutinize region Dalarna leadership after cosmic scandal

A leader in Dala-Demokraten calls for scrutiny of Region Dalarna's leadership over its handling of the Cosmic journal system. The piece highlights illegalities in the procurement and serious patient safety risks.

According to the leader in Dala-Demokraten, SVT's Uppdrag granskning revealed major problems with Cosmic. These include patient safety risks, a deteriorated work environment and waste of tax funds.

The procurement of the system from the Bahrain-owned company Cambio violated the Public Procurement Act. Lawyers in the region warned about delivery delays and proposed fines of 370 million kronor plus a new procurement.

Former chief lawyer Hans Göran Åhgren was suspended in October 2023 after raising the issues. The Administrative Court of Appeal has fined the region 10 million kronor. Directors Dedering and Lindberg maintain that care is safe and that it is not possible to return to TakeCare.
