Seven couples lined up outside Luleå Cathedral before 10 a.m. for spontaneous weddings during today's drop-in ceremony.
Priest Yvonne Nordqvist described the day as filled with joy and love. Interest has varied over the years, with a maximum of 16 couples married during similar events.
The church remained open until 6 p.m. Other parishes coordinate their drop-in weddings to spread out the occasions.
To marry, couples need a certificate of no impediment, ID documents, and at least one partner must be a member of the Church of Sweden.
