Les Bleus éliminés en demi-finale des Mondiaux par la Chine

L’équipe de France de tennis de table, emmenée par les frères Lebrun, a été éliminée en demi-finale des Mondiaux par équipes après une défaite 3-1 face à la Chine samedi à Londres.

Battus au terme d’une soirée disputée à l’Arena de Wembley, les Bleus ont vu leur parcours s’arrêter face à la nation numéro un mondiale. Félix Lebrun a dominé Lin Shidong 3-0, tandis que Flavien Coton, 18 ans, a poussé Wang Chuqin jusqu’au 3-2. Alexis Lebrun a quant à lui cédé 3-2 face à Liang Jingkun après avoir manqué deux balles de match.

La défaite finale de Félix Lebrun contre Wang Chuqin 3-1 a scellé l’élimination. La France, championne d’Europe en titre, devra se contenter de la médaille de bronze. La Chine, invaincue depuis 2001 dans la compétition, affrontera le Japon en finale dimanche.

Deux ans après leur argent à Busan, les Français ont montré que l’écart avec la Chine se resserre, sans parvenir à franchir l’obstacle en demi-finale.
