Outgoing IIHF president Luc Tardif addressed Russia's push to rejoin major ice hockey tournaments during a Sunday press conference in Zürich. Russia has won an appeal against its exclusion from events including the World Championships and Olympics.
Tardif stressed the importance of reintegrating the nations but warned against acting too soon. He noted that the competitive level of the World Championships has declined without Russia and Belarus since their exclusion following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
