Jordan Spieth posted a nine-under 62 in Friday's second round of the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. The round included a favorable embedded ball ruling on the par-5 fifth hole.
Spieth's ball was embedded in a greenside bunker. After confirmation from an official, he took relief and placed the ball atop thick rough following multiple drops. An analyst on the PGA Tour Live broadcast called it a break, noting Spieth could place the ball for an ideal lie. He followed with a wedge to 4 feet and made birdie, adding two more on the back nine for a 29 on that side.
