L'ancien ministre José Piñera a révélé sur les réseaux sociaux avoir rencontré à plusieurs reprises l'ancien président de la Réserve fédérale américaine, récemment décédé.

Dans une publication sur X, José Piñera a déclaré avoir rencontré Alan Greenspan plusieurs fois. Il a souligné que l'économiste américain admirait le modèle de retraite chilien. Piñera a cité le témoignage de Greenspan devant le Congrès américain. Dans celui-ci, l'ancien président de la Réserve fédérale mentionnait un ami chilien qui portait sur lui un carnet indiquant la valeur nette de son épargne-retraite. Greenspan a dirigé la Réserve fédérale pendant 19 ans sous quatre administrations présidentielles. La présidente de la Banque centrale du Chili, Rosanna Costa, et l'ancien président Mario Marcel ont souligné son influence sur la politique monétaire.
