Markus Modigs extends contract with Vålerenga

Swedish forward Markus Modigs will remain with Norwegian club Vålerenga for the 2026/27 season after extending his deal.

The 34-year-old announced the extension on the club's website. Modigs joined Vålerenga last season following stints with Mora and Frisk Asker.

He previously played in Sweden's SHL for Linköping and spent multiple seasons in HockeyAllsvenskan with teams including Modo, BIK Karlskoga, Mora, Almtuna and Oskarshamn.

Modigs said the move feels good. He added that he enjoyed his first period with the club and is happy to be back.

Vålerenga already has two other Swedes on staff. Fredrik Glader serves as assistant coach while Henrik Larsson plays on the roster.
