Murray's 42 saves power Admirals to 4-1 Game 1 win

Matt Murray stopped 42 shots as the Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Manitoba Moose 4-1 in Game 1 of their AHL playoff series on Wednesday night at Canada Life Centre. Brady Martin scored his first professional goal in his AHL debut. Milwaukee leads the best-of-three series 1-0.

Reid Schaefer put the Admirals ahead 1-0 at 9:18 of the first period during four-on-four play. Less than three minutes later, Martin, the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, stickhandled through the Moose defense and beat goaltender Thomas Milic to make it 2-0. Martin, who appeared in three games with Nashville this season, joined Milwaukee from the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL for his AHL debut. Kevin Gravel and Cole O’Hara added goals for the Admirals, while Parker Ford scored Manitoba's lone tally early in the third period. Murray set a personal season high with his 42 saves in the victory. The Admirals can clinch the series and advance to the division semifinals with a win in Game 2 on Friday at 8 p.m. ET in Winnipeg. Game 3, if necessary, is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
