Nearly a thousand children and youth from across Sweden competed in Lilla Skidspelen at riksskidstadion in Lugnet, Falun, over the weekend. The event featured struggle, joy, tears, and shining sun. Nelly described feeling nervous before her start.

Lilla Skidspelen is Sweden's largest ski competition for children and youth, held since 1974. Over the weekend, nearly a thousand participants gathered at riksskidstadion in Lugnet, Falun, for the races. Anna Frydenberg, deputy race director and parent, stated: “There are nearly 970 starters today. Many of them are probably the future national team.” The event included struggle, joy, tears, and shining sun. Nelly, one of the participants, said before her start: “It is nervous.” The competition drew children and youth from across the country to Lugnet in Falun.

Two Norwegian teams claimed the top three spots at Skidskyttekampen on Stockholms stadion, with Swedish stars finishing fifth.
