Le président national du PT, Edinho Silva, a rencontré l'ancienne maire Marília Campos à Belo Horizonte, mais aucune décision n'a été prise concernant sa candidature au gouvernement de l'État du Minas Gerais.

La réunion a eu lieu dimanche (28/06) et a vu la participation de la présidente du directoire d'État du PT, la députée provinciale Leninha. L'objectif était de convaincre Marília de se présenter au gouvernement de l'État en 2026.

Leninha a déclaré qu'aucune décision n'avait été prise et que de nouveaux dialogues auraient lieu dans les prochains jours. Marília a maintenu sa position de se présenter au Sénat, après avoir quitté ses fonctions municipales à cette fin.

Le parti considère l'ancienne maire comme la principale alternative après le refus du sénateur Rodrigo Pacheco. Différents groupes du PT font pression pour obtenir une candidature propre au Palácio Tiradentes.
