Scotties bronze medalists Team Cameron to part ways

Team Cameron, the curling squad from St. Adolphe Curling Club, has announced it will no longer play together. The team, skipped by Kate Cameron, achieved a bronze medal at the 2024 Scotties but struggled this season. The split comes as the curling cycle concludes after the Olympics, with players seeking new opportunities.

Team Cameron made the announcement on social media, signaling the end of their partnership after three years together. The team was formed with skip Kate Cameron from New Bothwell, along with Taylor McDonald and Mackenzie Elias. Last season, they added Brianne Harris as third.

The group's post reflected on the season: “Although this season didn’t receive the results we hoped for, we remain great friends and will forever be cheering each other on in whatever is next.”

Prior to this year, Team Cameron enjoyed notable success. They qualified for the national women’s curling championship, known as the Scotties, in their first two seasons and secured a bronze medal in 2024. However, their performance dipped recently. At the 2025 Canadian Curling Trials, they recorded a 1-6 record. This season, they were eliminated in the provincial semi-finals and failed to qualify for the Scotties.

Currently, the team holds the 13th position in the Canadian Team Ranking System. Their disbandment aligns with a broader trend in curling, where many teams dissolve at the end of the Olympic cycle. Players often join new lineups to pursue chances of representing Canada on international stages.

St. Adolphe Curling Club served as their home base in Manitoba.
