L'ancien ministre en chef Siddaramaiah a accusé le BJP de fonctionner comme une usine à mensonges lors d'un événement du Congrès à Mysuru le 28 juin. Il a affirmé que le parti induisait les gens en erreur et rejetait les valeurs démocratiques.

Siddaramaiah a tenu ces propos lors d'un programme de sensibilisation au niveau divisionnaire sur la révision intensive spéciale des listes électorales, organisé par le Congrès. Il a déclaré que le BJP fabrique des mensonges et les propage jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient perçus comme la vérité. L'ancien ministre en chef a également soutenu que le parti ne croit ni en la Constitution ni en les valeurs démocratiques. Siddaramaiah a en outre accusé le BJP de poursuivre un programme centralisé et de viser à imposer le concept « Une nation, une élection ». Il a affirmé que le parti croit en la dictature plutôt qu'à la démocratie.
