Sweden lost 1-5 to the Netherlands in the group stage match in Houston. The Dutch took an early lead and won convincingly.
The Netherlands led 2-0 after 20 minutes with two goals from Brian Brobbey. Sweden pulled one back to make it 1-5 in the second half through Anthony Elanga.
Captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf said after the match that the team conceded simple goals but also did good things. He stressed that Sweden still has everything in its own hands ahead of the next match.
Coach Graham Potter noted that the team became a bit passive. The match was played at Houston Stadium and was Sweden's second group stage game in the World Cup.
Sweden faces Japan in its final group stage match on Friday.
