Traffic stops on E4 south of Södertälje after multi-car crash

An accident involving five passenger cars occurred on the E4 at Järna just before 8 PM on Sunday evening. Traffic came to a complete stop, but one lane was later reopened. One person was taken to the hospital for checks, but no injuries were reported.

The accident took place on the E4 south of Södertälje, specifically at Järna, just before 8 PM on Sunday evening, November 30, 2025. A total of five passenger cars were involved in the crash, leading to a complete halt in traffic.

"One person is being taken by ambulance for checks, but no injuries have been reported," said Daniel Kaissidis, duty officer at Södertörn's fire department.

Around 8:40 PM, one lane was reopened, easing the traffic congestion. The vehicles are to be towed from the scene, and according to the Swedish Transport Administration's forecast, the work should be completed by 10:30 PM.

The incident has caused disruptions on the heavily trafficked E4, a key European route through Sweden. No further details on the cause of the accident have been reported at this time.
