Trey Fix-Wolansky named AHL player of the week

Hartford Wolf Pack forward Trey Fix-Wolansky has been selected as the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 8, 2026. He recorded five goals and two assists in three games last week, helping his team close to within four points of a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division. This marks his strong performance in his first season with the New York Rangers organization.

The American Hockey League announced on March 9, 2026, that Trey Fix-Wolansky of the Hartford Wolf Pack earned the weekly honor. In three recent games, the forward from Edmonton, Alberta, contributed significantly to his team's efforts.

On Wednesday, Fix-Wolansky scored once during a 3-2 loss to Providence. He then elevated his play on Friday, netting two goals and adding two assists in a 6-0 victory over Bridgeport. This performance pushed him to 20 goals for the season, his fourth straight year reaching that mark.

The following day, Saturday, he added two more goals in a 5-2 win against Hershey, extending his point streak to six games with seven goals and six assists overall in that span. These results brought Hartford closer to playoff contention in the Atlantic Division.

Now in his first year with the New York Rangers after signing as a free agent on July 3, 2025, Fix-Wolansky tops the Wolf Pack's scoring chart with 23 goals and 41 points across 55 games in the 2025-26 season.

Over seven professional seasons, he has appeared in 344 AHL games, accumulating 135 goals, 165 assists, and 300 points. In the Calder Cup Playoffs, he has played 23 games with four goals and nine assists. Originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the seventh round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Fix-Wolansky has also skated in 26 NHL games with that team, recording four goals and two assists.
