Two men arrested for alleged theft in Pitalito

In Pitalito, Huila, police arrested two men known as alias 'Yales' and 'Maicol', wanted for theft and illegal possession of firearms. The captures took place during control operations in the Lara Bonilla neighborhood. Both were handed over to the prosecutor's office for judicial hearings.

The Huila Police Department conducted background verification operations in various sectors of the Laboyos valley, leading to the arrest of two individuals in Pitalito's Lara Bonilla neighborhood. The first, alias 'Yales', was identified after a check of his identity document, uncovering an active judicial order for a six-year prison sentence for aggravated and qualified theft committed in 2017. He also had prior convictions for similar offenses, indicating recidivism in criminal activities.

A short distance away, authorities detained alias 'Maicol', who was also listed in the database with an active arrest warrant. This man is accused of manufacturing, trafficking, and possessing firearms or ammunition, as well as aggravated and qualified theft in the municipality of Garzón in 2024.

Following the arrests, both were transferred and placed at the disposal of the prosecutor's office. 'Yales' will serve the imposed sentence, while 'Maicol' will face the corresponding criminal proceedings. These operations aim to enhance security in the Huila region through enforcement and control.
