The United States women's curling team secured a decisive 10-3 victory over Denmark in round-robin play at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Skip Tabitha Peterson's squad improved to 5-2, positioning them one win from the semifinals. The win came a day after a loss to Italy, boosting team confidence.
The U.S. women's curling team rebounded strongly on Tuesday, defeating Denmark 10-3 in a key round-robin match at the Olympics. After a 7-2 loss to Italy on Monday, Team USA put up four points in the seventh end to seal the victory. They outshot Denmark 82-71 percent on all shots and 84-72 percent on draws, marking their highest scoring game of the tournament with 10 points.
"Huge win," said U.S. skip Tabitha Peterson. "It's great to bounce back. Especially after last night's loss, it's huge. It helps with the confidence. Helps going into the next two games we have ahead of us. I'm really, really proud of us."
The game started with traded singles in the first and second ends. Team USA took a 3-1 lead in the third when Peterson removed Denmark's stone for two points. They added one in the fifth for a 4-2 halftime edge. In the sixth, Peterson's final rock positioned two points, and Denmark's Madeleine Dupont overcurled, allowing a steal of two for a 6-2 lead. Denmark scored one in the seventh, but the U.S. responded with four in the eighth via Peterson's draw to the button, prompting Denmark to concede the last two ends.
Composed of skip Tabitha Peterson, Tara Peterson, Taylor Anderson-Heide, and Cory Thiesse—who won silver in mixed doubles earlier—the team now sits alone in second place. A win over Great Britain on Wednesday or Switzerland on Thursday would clinch a semifinal spot. Even with losses, tiebreakers favor advancement as they have beaten lower-ranked teams.
Other Tuesday results included Canada beating Sweden 8-6 to improve to 4-3, Switzerland topping South Korea 7-5 for 5-2, and Italy defeating Japan 8-6 for their second straight win.
