US official says Nvidia H200 exports to China remain trivial

A US Commerce official stated that shipments of Nvidia H200 AI chips to mainland China and Hong Kong remain very limited despite prior approvals.

US Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Jeffrey Kessler testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on 15 July 2026.

Kessler said very few shipments against licenses for H200s and equivalents have taken place.

He described the quantity of chips that reached China and Hong Kong as trivial.
