Xi chairs CPC Political Bureau meeting on local Party committees

The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee met on Friday to deliberate regulations on the work of local Party committees. Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting. It stressed that local Party committees must resolutely uphold the authority and centralized leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core.

The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held a meeting on Friday to deliberate on regulations governing the work of local Party committees. Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting.

The meeting stressed that local Party committees must resolutely uphold the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core. While faithfully implementing decisions and arrangements from the CPC Central Committee, they should consider local conditions and enhance initiative and creativity in their work.

It called for a down-to-earth approach and concrete actions to pursue development and ensure security. Local Party committees should promote high-quality development through solid efforts, focus on improving people's well-being, and make every effort to safeguard national security and overall social stability.

The meeting urged them to establish a correct understanding of what it means to perform well and remain committed to delivering benefits to the people through diligent work. They should refine decision-making rules and strengthen oversight mechanisms.

Leading members of local Party committees should improve their professional competence, enhance leadership capabilities, advance full and rigorous Party self-governance, and exercise power in compliance with laws and regulations.
