Large forest fire near Lustebo fought with helicopters

A large forest fire broke out just north of Lustebo between Grycksbo and Bjursås in Falu municipality on Tuesday. Rescue services suspect a forestry machine sparked it on stones in a storm-damaged area. Two helicopters and ground crews brought the fire under control late in the evening.
The Dikarback association has decided to end its voluntary care of animals at Falu nature school after 18 years. The unanimous decision was made at the association's annual meeting last Saturday in protest against Falu municipality's plans to effectively dismantle the nature school. The group says it has lost its motivation.
