Alexander Bublik calls doubles half tennis in blunt remarks

Alexander Bublik has dismissed doubles tennis as not real tennis during a recent interview. The Kazakh player described it as half tennis and suggested only those unable to compete in singles choose the format.

Bublik made his views clear in direct terms. “Because they’re doubles players, it’s not tennis. It’s half tennis. If you can’t play singles, you play doubles. If you can’t play doubles, you play padel. Very simple,” he said. He reinforced earlier comments that had already drawn criticism from other players and coaches.
