Annapurna Interactive moved quickly to dismiss claims that Mixtape faced removal from sale. In comments to Kotaku, creative director Johnny Galvatron noted that the developers paid additional fees to maintain the music licenses indefinitely. This approach differs from past cases involving licensed tracks in games like Guitar Hero, where rights issues led to delistings or changes.
