The event kicks off with an in-person keynote and Platforms State of the Union presentation at Apple Park headquarters on June 8, also streamed online via YouTube and Apple's Developer app. Opportunities to meet Apple engineers and designers will be available that day for in-person attendees, selected through a lottery system for passes. The rest of the developer-focused sessions will be hosted online, as in recent years. Apple described the conference as offering a first look at “incredible updates for Apple platforms, including AI advancements and exciting new software and developer tools.” Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of worldwide developer relations, stated: “WWDC is one of the most exciting times for us at Apple because it's a chance for our incredible global developer community to come together for an electrifying week that celebrates technology, innovation and collaboration.” Reports expect previews of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and updates to other systems like WatchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. These may refine the Liquid Glass design language and introduce promised AI features, such as a more personal Siri originally announced in 2024. The announcement follows recent March hardware releases, including the iPhone 17E, iPad Air M4, and $599 MacBook Neo. While WWDC focuses mainly on software, occasional hardware reveals have occurred, like the Vision Pro in 2023.
