Apple TV has announced that season 2 of the sci-fi drama Dark Matter will premiere on Friday, August 28, with weekly episodes culminating in an October 30 finale. The series stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly. The 10-episode season follows the Dessens as they face new threats in an alternate world.
Joel Edgerton reprises his role as physicist Jason Dessen, who navigates an alternate version of his life. Jennifer Connelly plays his wife Daniela, supported by Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley, and Amanda Brugel. Blake Crouch returns as writer and showrunner, adapting his novel for the series. Apple TV described the plot: the Dessens settle into a quiet life that seems safe until unforeseen forces make them run again. Jason's deepening obsession with the Box and Daniela's rising paranoia threaten their stability. The announcement also covered other upcoming shows.
