Atlético Huila will hold an open tryout this Saturday, March 7, at its Rivera facility for categories 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, aiming to complete teams for national tournaments organized by Difútbol. Coordinator Alexander Bahamón invited parents and athletes to join without prior requirements.
Atlético Huila, focused on developing its youth divisions, has announced a tryout to bolster its junior teams. Professor Alexander Bahamón, coordinator of the training schools, stated that the event will take place on Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 a.m. at the sports facility in Río Frío, Rivera municipality.
The initiative aims to complete rosters for national tournaments endorsed by Difútbol, including Under-15 and Under-17 categories. Bahamón noted that the session will be open to all interested parties, who need only bring athletic wear. "For this Saturday we have scheduled viewings for categories 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, with the aim of completing the team that will participate in the national tournament for Atlético Huila," he said in an interview with LA NACIÓN and LA NACIÓN Stereo.
The training school currently has 80 athletes, and the club hopes to draw more children from various municipalities in the Huila department. The process is part of a restart in comprehensive training, emphasizing suitable facilities and qualified professionals. "We are starting this year and our priority is forming the groups. The idea is to participate, the idea is to generate that need in the Huila athlete to grow," Bahamón added.
The coordinator issued a special invitation to parents: "A special invitation to all parents, athletes who want to be part of Atlético Huila, who want to continue their process seeking that longed-for dream of professional football, we are ready." This tryout marks a key step in reviving the club's youth development program and nurturing local football talent.
