Auralee presented its spring 2027 menswear collection on June 23 in Paris. Designer Ryota Iwai drew inspiration from the anticipation of a vacation while at work.
The show took place along an open-air colonnade outside the Odéon Théâtre de l’Europe during the first day of men’s shows in Paris. It began with relaxed tailoring in inky black, earthy umber, and rich cocoa tones before shifting to lighter tropical prints and freer silhouettes.
Iwai said through an interpreter, “A trip is not necessarily the destination. It’s being in the office but having that excitement back in your mind.” He added that the freedom of being on holiday allows for more expressive choices in clothing.
The collection featured knit T-shirts in sunset stripes, aquamarine prints under sweaters, and lightweight outerwear in proprietary fabrics. Models wore pieces such as a cherry red zip-up hoodie and pale blue corduroys paired with filmy baseball tees.
Iwai highlighted two looks that captured the post-vacation ease: one with tropical motifs layered under a sweater and leather shorts, and another with slate gray suits worn with striped cardigans and floral shirts.
