Eight minutes later, Harry Kane headed in from another Kimmich corner to make it 2:0 (24th minute).
Union Berlin pulled one back via penalty: After a VAR review for handball by Jonathan Tah, Leopold Querfeld converted confidently to 1:2 (40th minute). Just before halftime, Diogo Leite scored another own goal from a Michael Olise free-kick cross (45+4th minute), restoring Bayern's two-goal lead.
After the break, the hosts earned a second penalty for a foul by Kane on Leite. Querfeld scored again, with Manuel Neuer diving the wrong way (55th minute).
