Brynäs IF has signed 19-year-old forward Gustav Hillström to a one-year contract extension. The Gävle native progressed through the club's junior ranks and made his SHL debut last season.
The deal keeps Hillström with the club through the upcoming season. He was born in 2007 and joined Brynäs before the 2021/22 campaign after starting at Strömsbro IF.
Hillström received a two-year junior contract after his SHL debut in 2024/25. The agreement converted to a rookie deal once he surpassed 100 minutes played.
"Att vara född och uppvuxen i Gävle och få representera Brynäs IF är väldigt speciellt," Hillström said. He added that he has enjoyed his time at the club and plans to work hard for a roster spot.
Sport chief Johan Alcén praised the player's development, dedication and versatility. "Det ska bli väldigt spännande att följa och få jobba tillsammans med Gustav under de kommande åren," Alcén said.
