Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams gifted an autographed jersey to Pope Leo XIV on July 4. The presentation was made through U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Brian Burch. The pope, a Chicago native, posed for a photo with the gift.
Williams personalized the white #18 jersey with a message reading "To: Pope Leo." He added the hashtags #DaPope, #DaBears and #Heisman22 along with the acronym AMDG.
The jersey matches a "Tundra White" alternate sold on the Bears' official website and is not the team's upcoming Rivalries uniform. The Bears are scheduled to receive their Rivalries jersey later in 2026 as part of the NFC North group.
Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost, received the item during a July 4 celebration at the Vatican. The jersey is currently sold out on the team's Pro Shop site.
