Chris Gotterup captured the 2026 John Deere Classic on Sunday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. He fired a nine-under 62 to finish at 20 under par for his third PGA Tour victory of the season. Ben Kohles suffered a double bogey on the final hole to finish tied for third.
Gotterup started the final round five shots behind the leaders but made five birdies on the front nine and added four more on the back to post his winning total. The victory marked his fifth PGA Tour title overall and came after he switched to a TaylorMade Qi4D 7-wood earlier in the season.
Kohles arrived at the 18th hole tied with Gotterup and needing a birdie to win or a par to force a playoff. His approach shot found a lateral hazard, leading to a double bogey and a tie for third place. He described the outcome as a tough finish after playing well all week.
Gotterup credited hard work and support from those around him for his recent success. He noted that the John Deere Classic has special meaning after receiving a sponsor invite in 2022 that helped launch his career. The win sends him to Scotland next week to defend his Genesis Scottish Open title.
