CIX member Hyunsuk has landed the role of main antagonist Ji Young Hyun in the upcoming drama Study Group 2. The confirmation came quickly after initial reports surfaced.
According to a source close to the agency, MyDaily first broke the tea on July 13 that Hyunsuk was already deep in filming as the season's big bad from the original webtoon. TVING followed up the next day with the official slay, confirming he will appear and is currently on set.
Hyunsuk debuted with CIX back in 2019 and stepped into acting in 2021. He recently signed with Management Run and is also set to star alongside Cha Woo Min in the tvN drama My Bias, My Boss.
The first season of Study Group, a high school action-comedy following fighter-turned-student Youn Ga Min, ranked in the top five across over 140 regions on Viki. Fans are already buzzing about how Hyunsuk will bring the villain energy to season two.
