CleanSpark signs $6.6 billion Georgia data center lease

CleanSpark signed a 20-year, $6.6 billion lease for a data center in Georgia with an undisclosed technology company. The Bitcoin miner saw its shares rise after the announcement.

CleanSpark, a Bitcoin mining firm, has entered into the long-term agreement for the facility.

The lease covers 20 years and totals $6.6 billion in value.

The counterparty remains unnamed in the deal.

Shares in the company increased following the signing.

Hut 8 announced a 15-year lease valued at $9.8 billion for a large-scale AI data center in Texas, sending its shares up nearly 30 percent on Wednesday. The deal covers 352 megawatts of capacity at the company's Beacon Point campus and includes options that could raise the total value to $25.1 billion.

CleanSpark posted a net loss of $378.3 million for the quarter ending March 31, more than double the prior year's figure, as a non-cash bitcoin adjustment weighed on results.
