Sega revealed the first trailer for Crazy Taxi: World Tour during an Xbox showcase on June 7. The game is scheduled to launch in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
The trailer shows the series' San Francisco-inspired map and features original driver Alex alongside rival drivers. Side activities include a fishing mini-game and ferrying passengers with pizzas. Sega confirmed on the game's Steam page that generative AI tools were used during development as a support for creating background assets. A follow-up statement noted that all generated assets were reviewed by the development team. The announcement comes after Sega's 2023 reveal at The Game Awards of plans to reboot several classic franchises, including Crazy Taxi. The trailer includes music by The Offspring.
