Peronist militants and organizations mobilized this Wednesday in front of Cristina Kirchner's home in the Constitución neighborhood to accompany her one year after her conviction in the Vialidad case.
The former president stepped out onto the balcony of her home at San José 1111, wearing a green sweater and jeans, to greet those present and thank them for their support. She sang the chorus of the song Jijiji by Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota as a tribute to the late Indio Solari. Organizers defined the day as an act to accompany Kirchner, whom they consider a victim of an unjust conviction and political persecution. An open radio station driven by unions was set up and a video was projected on the impact of the ruling. Simultaneous activities took place in provinces such as Catamarca, Chaco, San Juan and Trelew, as well as in multiple districts of Buenos Aires. Governor Axel Kicillof described the sentence as an infamy and linked it to an attempt at political disciplining against the opposition.
