Prices for dairy products in stores have dropped sharply lately. The halved food VAT amplifies this, creating a favorable situation for consumers.

For dairy farmers, however, the picture is different. Kajsa Petersson, a dairy farmer in Horndal, appeals to customers: “Choose Swedish in peacetime, so that there is milk in wartime.”

In the Arla region, covering Dalarna and Gävleborg, around 40 farmers are struggling with strained conditions due to the price pressure.
