Didier Deschamps spoke in Philadelphia on Friday ahead of the round-of-16 match against Paraguay. The coach stressed the need for balance and further improvements.
France coach Didier Deschamps described Paraguay as a side with quality and great heart. « They beat Germany, they will give everything », he said.
Deschamps acknowledged slow starts in recent games and called for more cohesion. « I have no problem, only solutions to find », he stated. He highlighted the importance of Aurélien Tchouaméni and Adrien Rabiot in maintaining balance and pressing.
On the heat, the coach said hydration protocols had been prepared. Marcus Thuram is following adapted training while the rest of the squad is fit. The match is scheduled for Saturday in Philadelphia.
