Domestic LPG cylinder price rises by 29 rupees in Delhi

The price of domestic LPG cylinders has been raised by ₹29 per 14.2 kg cylinder, effective June 7. In Delhi the new price is ₹942.

State-run oil marketing companies cited elevated global energy prices linked to the West Asia crisis. This marks the second increase in three months after a ₹60 hike on March 7. Industry sources said the companies were losing about ₹703 on every domestic LPG cylinder sold before the latest revision. Petrol and diesel prices have risen by a cumulative ₹7.50 per litre since mid-May. Commercial LPG cylinders also saw a hike on June 1. The government has absorbed part of the international price rise through state retailers amid volatile crude markets.
