Dongfeng announces strategic alliance to expand in Mexico

Dongfeng, China's fourth-largest vehicle manufacturer, has formed an alliance with Motornation to accelerate its growth in Mexico. The partnership aims to establish a presence in 20 states with over 30 sales and service points. It also ensures a national inventory of spare parts and certified workshops.

Dongfeng arrived in Mexico in 2024 and began sales in 2025. The new strategic alliance with Motornation, a platform for the development and commercialization of Chinese automotive brands in the country, focuses on the accelerated growth of the brand nationwide. This includes an active presence in 20 states, generating more than 30 combined sales and service points through the “Embajadas Motornation”.

A key objective is the national inventory of critical spare parts, along with certified workshops staffed by technicians trained directly by Dongfeng engineers. This initiative aims to ensure reliable after-sales support for the brand's vehicles.

In this first stage, the available models include the subcompact electric Box, with up to 430 km of autonomy; the compact crossover Shine, equipped with a 123 hp gasoline engine and front-wheel drive; the Mage SUV, offered in gasoline, hybrid, and fully electric versions; and the M3 van, with a gasoline engine, 900 kg load capacity, and up to 11 passengers depending on the version.

The alliance marks an important step in strengthening Dongfeng's position in the Mexican market, emphasizing accessibility and reliable service.
