His vehicle was hit by an approaching passenger train and dragged about 250 meters. The driver succumbed to his severe injuries at the scene.
Police reported that the warning signals were disregarded. Around a hundred passengers on the train escaped unharmed. Emergency services, including firefighters and pastoral care workers, responded to the site. The rail line was closed for several hours to secure and investigate the incident.
