Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE drop 'Leadbelly' from upcoming double album Pompeii // Utility

Following the March announcement of their collaborative double LP Pompeii // Utility, Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, and Surf Gang have released the single 'Leadbelly.' The album arrives April 3 via 10k/Tan Cressida/Surf Gang Records, with secret shows planned in Los Angeles, New York, and London ahead of their June tour.

Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE, with producers Harrison, evilgiane, Elipropperr, and Flea Diamonds from Surf Gang, released 'Leadbelly' on March 25 as the latest preview of their joint double album Pompeii // Utility, due April 3 through 10k/Tan Cressida/Surf Gang Records.

As detailed in the initial announcement, the project splits into Pompeii (MIKE-focused) and Utility (Sweatshirt-centered), featuring 33 tracks including the previously unveiled 'Minty // Earth.' Their collaboration stems from a 2019 tour and years of friendship. Sweatshirt shared with The Face, “I relate to MIKE like my actual sibling. That’s the foundation that made it easy for the project to come together.” MIKE added, “We’ve been working toward the same thing for a long time. It was already there.”

Promotion includes three secret Surf Gang shows in Los Angeles, New York City, and London, preceding the Home on the Range tour starting late April in Mexico City and continuing through September.

Recent highlights: Sweatshirt's surprise Live Laugh Love (2025), following 2022's Sick! and 2023's Voir Dire with Alchemist; MIKE's Pinball II (May 2025) and Showbiz! (2025).
