On October 21, 2025, Egypt’s Minister of Public Enterprises Sector, Mohamed El-Shimy, met with Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the newly appointed UAE Ambassador to Egypt. The discussion focused on ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in industrial and investment areas.
El-Shimy presented an overview of his ministry’s portfolio, covering key industrial, production, and service entities, along with ongoing modernization and development programs. He highlighted the ministry’s openness to partnerships with domestic and foreign private sectors, aimed at promoting sustainable development, localizing technology, and bolstering local manufacturing.
The minister pointed to promising investment opportunities across various sectors and affirmed the ministry’s full support for mutually beneficial partnerships. He reiterated the government’s commitment to creating an attractive investment climate and addressing any challenges faced by investors.
Ambassador Al Zaabi praised the strong and historic relations between Egypt and the UAE. He noted that Egypt remains a key investment destination due to its strategic advantages, developed infrastructure, and unique geographic location. Al Zaabi added that numerous Emirati companies are increasingly interested in expanding their presence and investments in the Egyptian market, reflecting the UAE’s confidence in Egypt’s economic prospects and reform trajectory.
