Eight suspects arrested after Centurion business robbery

Police in Gauteng have arrested eight suspects following an armed robbery at a business in Sunderland Ridge, Centurion. A shootout with security personnel led to injuries on both sides and the recovery of vehicles and firearms. The incident unfolded south of Pretoria on October 28, 2025.

The robbery occurred at a store in Sunderland Ridge, Centurion, south of Pretoria. According to police reports, the suspects entered the premises at gunpoint, loaded stock into a truck, and fled while escorted by another vehicle.

Security personnel were quickly alerted and pursued the suspects, tracing the truck and escort vehicle to the R55 road near Raslouw in Wierdabrug. A confrontation ensued, resulting in a shootout between the security guards and the suspects.

Gauteng Police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi provided details on the incident: “Shots were fired between security personnel and suspects. In the process, one suspect and a security guard sustained gunshot injuries. The police were called during the shooting, and eight suspects, including the injured one, have since been arrested. Two firearms, the truck and the vehicle were also seized for further investigations.”

The arrests highlight ongoing efforts to combat armed robberies in the region. Investigations into the robbery and the shootout are continuing, with the seized items undergoing forensic examination.
