Enzo Amore recalls John Cena saving his WWE NXT career

Former WWE star Enzo Amore has shared how John Cena helped revive his career after a difficult NXT debut. In a recent interview, Amore described being buried backstage before Cena intervened.

Enzo Amore recounted his early NXT experience during a conversation with Emilio Sparks. He said his unnamed debut was a squash loss to Mason Ryan arranged by Triple H.

Amore stated he was berated by Bill DeMott after the match. He added that Rob Naylor then informed him John Cena wanted to see him.

Cena praised Amore's performance and invited him to appear in a dark segment. Amore recalled suggesting Big Cass as his partner on the spot, though the two had not yet teamed on television.

Amore credited Cena with getting him and Big Cass over in WWE. He noted the moment helped launch his seven-year career with the company.
