The Rönnbäck Larsson family's Halloween preparations in Brändön outside Luleå have been ongoing for a while. They take the art of scaring very seriously, and the tradition started when the children were small. Even as the children grew older and lost interest, the decorating continued, and now they are recognized by the entire village for their garden.
"Sometimes cars stop outside to look at what we've done," says Linda Rönnbäck Larsson.
During a visit in daylight, the garden appears impressive, but Linda emphasizes that it becomes much scarier in the dark thanks to projections that light up the house. The family has, among other things, a butler in a greenhouse, who previously scared Linda herself.
"I couldn't keep him inside anymore; he stood outside the bedroom and nearly scared me to death more than once," she recounts. Linda expresses her own fascination with horror: "I like horror."
This local Halloween tradition has grown into a village attraction, where passersby stop to admire the creative efforts.
