FC Barcelona has announced that all tickets for their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt at Spotify Camp Nou will be allocated exclusively to club members. The decision aims to ensure supporter safety and prevent a repeat of the 2022 Europa League incident where thousands of away fans filled the stadium.
In an official statement, FC Barcelona outlined measures to prioritize its members and create a secure environment for home supporters during the UEFA Champions League group stage clash with Eintracht Frankfurt. The club referenced the April 2022 Europa League quarterfinal against the same opponents, where nearly 30,000 German fans were present, leading to a majority of non-Barça supporters in the stands.
"With this measure, the Club gives absolute priority to its members [...] and guarantees that the stadium will become a place of celebration and support exclusively for Barça fans," the statement read. Presale for members began the day before the announcement, with purchases requiring proof of membership status to combat resale and fraud.
Heightened security protocols include increased personnel at gates and in stands, visual and name checks for supporters in away team attire, and coordination with Eintracht Frankfurt, local police (Guardia Urbana and Mossos d’Esquadra), and stadium authorities to prevent gatherings and illegal sales. Daily monitoring of ticket sales will identify fraudulent patterns.
Any detected fraud will be referred to the club's Disciplinary Committee for action, as it endangers member safety. Ticket prices range from €59 to €199, offering a 35% discount to members. Barcelona emphasized the role of members as the institution's backbone and urged responsible purchasing to maintain a passionate, respectful atmosphere.
